Scurtă istorie necrodeath/necrodeath long story short

(RO) Știți deja despre cine urmează să vorbim aici, pentru că am avut deosebita plăcere să vă anunțăm și ultimul dintre headlinerii Festivalului Vast Plains & Goats IV și anume Necrodeath – CATAPULTA THRASH italiană, care-și încheie cariera legendară printr-un marș triumfal prin Europa, proiectînd un asediu puternic asupra Craiovei în data de 09.05.2025, eveniment la care sînteți așteptați negreșit. Dar cine este totuși acest commando genovez ce practică o formulă superioară a thrash metal-ului, ghintuit cu accente death și chiar black? Născută din vulcanii peninsulei italice, ca și colegii de generație Bulldozer, Schizo sau Incinerator, în vara anului 1984 sub numele Ghostrider și avîndu-l deja în componență pe omniprezentul și uimitorul tobar Peso, au înregistrat rapid două casete demo devenite cult – ’’Mayhemic Destruction” și “The Shining Pentagram”, acesta din urmă sub noul nume schimbat în mult mai subtilul Necrodeath 😊; urmînd ca într-un timp relativ scurt să înregistreze primul lor LP, minunatul și ușor straniul ”Into the Macabre” (1987), ale cărui piese aduc aminte imediat de stilul Slayer de a crea riffuri ce fac ascultătorul de metal să simtă efectiv  că este lovit cu un ciomag în moalele capului. Bineînțeles, trupa a făcut valuri imediat în underground, asta conducînd implacabil la apariția celui de-al doilea LP, “Fragments of Insanity” (1989), ce a însemnat o nouă injecție letală de thrash feroce, deloc departe de ceea ce făceau cam în aceeași perioadă zeii thrash-ului european, Kreator. Restul e istorie, așa cum bine spun înțelepții, o istorie piperată cu un hiatus de 8 ani, între 1990 și 1998, timp în care Peso (practic motorul trupei) a activat în Sadist, revenind apoi extrem de puternic cu albumele “Mater of All Evil” și “Black as Pitch”, adevărate demonstrații de thrash Slayer-ish italian. După cum aminteam, aceasta va fi o întîlnire specială cu Necrodeath, cu ocazia celei de-a IV-a ediții a Festivalului Vast Plains & Goats, dar și al acestui turneu-epitaf, unde vom asculta cu siguranță atît piesele lor de rezistență, cît și piesele noi de pe ultimul (la propriu) album “Arimortis”, scos chiar anul acesta în Ianuarie.
Drum bun în infern, vă așteptăm la Craiova pentru un show de povestit posterității și ca avanpremieră vă invităm să ascultăm împreună o piesă reprezentativă a trupei – THANATOID!

(EN) You already know who we are going to talk about here, because we had the pleasure to announce the last of the Vast Plains & Goats IV headliners, namely Necrodeath – the Italian THRASH CATAPULT, which ends its legendary career with a triumphal march through Europe, planning a powerful siege on Craiova on 09.05.2025, an event you are definitely expected to attend. But who is this Genovese commando practicing a superior form of thrash metal, with death and even black accents? Born from the volcanoes of the Italian peninsula, like their generation mates Bulldozer, Schizo or Incinerator, in the summer of 1984 under the name Ghostrider and already featuring the ubiquitous and amazing drummer Peso, they quickly recorded two demo tapes that became cult – ”Mayhemic Destruction” and “The Shining Pentagram”, the latter under the new name changed to the much more subtle Necrodeath 😊; and in a relatively short time they recorded their first LP, the wonderful and slightly eerie “Into the Macabre” (1987), whose tracks immediately bring to mind Slayer’s style of creating riffs that make the metal listener feel like he’s being hit in the back of the head with a truncheon. Of course, the band immediately made waves in the underground, leading relentlessly to the release of their second LP, “Fragments of Insanity” (1989), which meant a new lethal injection of ferocious thrash, not far from what the European thrash gods Kreator were doing around the same time. The rest is history, as the sages say, a stunted history with an 8-year hiatus, between 1990 and 1998, during which Peso (practically the band’s engine) was active in Sadist, then coming back extremely strong with the albums “Mater of All Evil” and “Black as Pitch“, true demonstrations of Slayer-ish Italian thrash. As mentioned, this will be a special meeting with Necrodeath, on the occasion of the 4th edition of Vast Plains & Goats festival, but also of this epitaph-tour, where we will certainly listen to both their greatest hits and new tracks from their latest (literally) album “Arimortis“, released this year in January.
